Glamorgan v Surrey, LVCC2, Day 1, Cardiff, 19/04/15

There was only one story in town as Glamorgan played their first home Championship game of the season, namely that of the return to county cricket of one Kevin Pietersen, clad in Surrey colours, which ensured that the press box was far more packed than it usually would have been for a Championship match.

As an individual I am no fan of the self styled KP - I just don't see how you can play team sport with such attitudes that he has displayed - but you cannot doubt the man's talent or ability to court publicity.

On this occasion his 19 runs were overshadowed by a true great of the modern game, Surrey overseas player and world no 1 Test batman Kumar Sangakkara, who scored an excellent century on Day 1 of this encounter.

A full report is here on cricinfo. Some pics follow.
