Steelhouse Festival, Day 2, FM, Doro, Dee Snider, Hafod-y-Dafal Farm, Aberbeeg, 26/07/2015

And so the 5th Steelhouse Festival came to a fine conclusion on the Sunday night with FM, Doro, Tyketto and Dee Snider. What a festival this is, and the organisers deserve full credit for putting on such a great show.

Here are my home grown efforts:

FM

Lifting the Sunday afternoon gloom, festival favourites FM delivered a listen friendly set of 80s rock with all of their usual aplomb. Great band.

Doro

The highlight of the festival for me was the appearance of the self styled, German 'Queen of Metal', Doro Pesch. Arriving on stage like true royalty, after being carried there through the mud, there was no diva style stropping for this superb rocker, as the lashing rain did nothing to dampen, her, her band's or the crowd's enthusiasm for a great sing-along set.

I've been a Doro fan since the Warlock days of the 1980s, and it was great to hear 'I Rule The Ruins', 'All We Are', 'Metal Tango', and many others. 30 years on, she can work a crowd like few others, with the blokes, in particular, putty in her hands.

Enjoy the pics.

If you couldn't tell, I like Doro.

Dee Snider

It's not everyday that you get a true legend of hard rock and heavy metal on your doorstep, but in Dee Snider one of the great characters of the genre truly delivered at the closure of the festival. Twisted Sister have been on the wish list of the Steelhouse family for a while, and on this night the wish was just about granted as the main man and front man of the band totally got into the spirit of the occasion.

Energy, passion, fire, colourful language (of course), thunderous riffs, head banging and everything else associated with the guy were on show as well as 'I Wanna Rock', 'You Can't Stop Rock'N'Roll', 'The Price', plus a few covers.

What a memory to take away from another successful weekend.

A superb weekend, well organised and a credit to the promoters and everyone who supported it.
