The Who, Quadrophenia and More, Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, 25/06/13

Superb - Stunning - Excellent - Magnificent.

There are no shortages of superlatives I could pile on for this extravaganza of 'Who-dom'.
 
Over 2 hours of Who magic, with the whole of Quadrophenia (their 1973 opus which storyboarded their fans back in 1963) followed by the inevitable Greatest Hits encore.

The magnificence and longevity of The Who to this blogger is well known to regular visitors, but tonight was something special. 69 year old Daltrey looking and sounding like a man half his age and Townsend singing much of his masterpiece together with the flash of guitar that electrifies, they were ably backed by 8 talented musicians and a wonderful backdrop video show chronicling their life influences through post war history.
 
Complete with flashback video footage of the long gone Keith Moon (the greatest drummer) and John Enwistle, even the hardened old rockers in Cardiff had a lump in the throat.
