It was great to be back at Sophia Gardens for the first time since 'you know what' - the longest period I've ever gone without watching Glamorgan, and that goes back to 1979.
In fairness, it wasn't the greatest day of Championship cricket at Sophia. Glamorgan won the toss and rather surprisingly took the decision to field first. In fairness, Cardiff does get slower and lower as matches progress, but this pitch was quite benign from the outset.
Therefore, Leicestershire built steadily through the day to close on 285/8, with main contributions coming from Hassan Azad 64 and Rishi Patel 82.
