The fifth Steelhouse Festival was held in late July on top of a mountain between Ebbw Vale and Abertillery, with the Saturday being headlined by Steel Daffodil favourites UFO, supported by Y&T, Nazareth and The Treatment. And what a success it was.

Here are my home grown efforts:
Darren Redick of Planet Rock introduced the bands
Y&T
Having seen Y&T many times over the years, it was great to see them so close to home. Mixing the whole of Black Tiger with a range of other classics, Dave Meniketti and the boys went down a storm, not surprising given the amount of Y&T fans in the area.
UFO
Put simply UFO are in my top 5 all time favourite bands and I have seen them more than any other outfit, probably over 20 times. They never disappoint me, and now have a set which combines the Strangers In The Night classics with material from newer albums such as 'Seven Deadly Sins' and 'A Conspiracy Of Stars', music which has seen them regain critical acclaim. Great to hear 'We Belong To The Night' from the Tonka Chapman era as a set opener too.
Vinnie Moore and Rob Da Luca
Phil Mogg - still rocking at 65
